The Earth is Alive!

Earlier this evening a magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit the bay area. This is my first earthquake experience and I have to say even for such a “minor” one I’d rather not have that happen often. I think I’d rather live in the Midwest. At least with tornado’s you’re not likely to be hit.

The USGS has a map and some info on local quakes. I’m just glad my TV didn’t fall over. I don’t need plasma shards in my rug, and have my TV die after a month.

  1. I heard about the quake yesterday when I was playing Team Fortress 2. Someone said, “Did anyone else feel an earthquake?” and I wondered if you were effected.

Glad to hear you are OK. Was it spooky? What were you doing when it hit?

  2. Yeah the earthquake was a bit spooky. I’m not used to the ground moving for a couple minutes and yeah it’s pretty creepy. I think I’d like to move back to the Midwest where the ground stays still.

In any case I wasn’t doing anything special when it hit. I was sitting on my computer gaming, half the people I was playing with noticed the earthquake.

  3. Did you run outside screaming “WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

    I guess that’s what I would have done…..
